ucsd update…
I just got back from another trip down to San Diego this past week. Since we haven’t been able to move down quite yet, I have been flying down periodically. I was able to connect with our team: Jeremy, Delila, Esther, JoJo, and Becca. It was good to be able to cast some vision and point to the headwinds so to speak as to where the ministry is going.
Thursday night we had a gathering of students to worship, pray, and connect. It was my chance to be in the same room with as many as possible that could make it. 16 came and the Holy Spirit came too. We had a powerful prayer time at the end. Two students in particular said, “I have never felt the Holy Spirit like I did tonight”. Another student told a story of being on campus and seeing a student who had a sprained wrist. He prayed for his wrist and it was instantly healed. The student was beside himself and his once sprained wrist. Thank you Jesus! It was very gouda being able to see students, eat some sushi, hear their hearts, and breath some ocean air.
I also looked at 8 different rental homes. One house I was going to look at on this trip was rented the day before I left. A second one I made an offer on while there and it was rejected. A third home that hadn’t had one offer in 3 months was still available. I made an offer and within 30 minutes another offer came in and the owners took it. What in the world? The realtor helping us…yes, realtor. Where we are looking to rent there are no for rent signs, thus, you need a realtor. He told me that La Jolla…where UCSD is, is now the most expensive city in the nation and that it hasn’t been effected by the housing slump. Thanks for those encouraging words. It made me want to sell is brand new Jaguar and use it for our transitional funds.
So, I continue to pray, look for places to live, and really focus on what Jesus is doing at UCSD. Next week our second Biosphere is launching in one of the dorms. I met with a handful of the students who will be a part of this launch. We have open-air worship times each week. This week and beyond we will be incorporating “free encouraging words” in the midst of the worship. With a booth set up, students will have the opportunity to receive words of knowledge, prophecy, etc. It’s all about positioning ourselves into a place where God must show up or it isn’t going to work.
I look forward to sharing the miracles of how we get down to San Diego. It is going to be book-worthy I am sure.
